Behind the Scenes: Still Life Shoot
One of the funniest things about fashion is prepping for autumn/winter in the height of summer, then preparing for the warmer months in the bitter cold.
And so it was one freezing day in January when it was time to pull together a still-life shoot for our Spring Summer ‘15 collection. Off to London Fields to the photographer’s studio we went, armed with everything we thought could snap us into the warm-weather mood. Namely, a Beach Boys record, Caribbean takeaway and tropical produce. And the collection of course.
These partners-in-creative-crime, along with the luxury knitwear’s watermelon intarsias and cheerful pink palette, quickly had us looking forward to the warmer seasons to come. Our pineapples – a key motif of the season - were artfully spray-painted and ultra-light cashmere sweaters were folded and refolded until we had just the perfect stack.
Later, in what was a much calmer afternoon, the collection’s easy-to-wear dresses, exclusive Liberty collection pieces, nautical stripes and soothing budgie-blue hued separates were a pleasure to style, stack and shoot.
In truth, we look forward to heading back to London Fields to shoot autumn/winter in July. In addition to the impossibly cosy AW15 collection, we’ll likely be in tow with a stellar Christmas playlist (hello Bublé), mince pies and a healthy amount of hot chocolate mix. Stay tuned.
