It's On: Exhibition - The Alice Look
Precisely 125 years ago, English writer Lewis Carroll wrote a book about Alice, a girl who falls through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world, and today she is still inspiring music videos, fashion collections and Vogue shoots. Who could forget an Alice-inspired Gwen Stefani in her What Are You Waiting For video? And Vogue readers will remember Annie Leibovitz and Grace Coddington’s shoot of Natalia Vodianova as Alice in an array of blue dresses (third and fourth images above).
What: To mark the 125th anniversary, the V&A Museum of Childhood in London will host an exhibition that follows Alice’s evolution as trendsetter through a selection of garments, photos, rare editions and a brand new commission by Roksanda Ilincic pattern-cutter Josie Smith. The display shows how Alice has been adapted across the world and how she has inspired many of the most celebrated designers, stylists and photographers. When: On now until November 1 2015. Naturally, we love the concept of being inspired by a storybook character of a fantastical tale. Want to channel a bit of Alice? Shop Chinti and Parker's own Alice-esque pieces:
