Summer is here and school is almost out, which means that your vacation isn’t looking so far away anymore. With so much to think about – passports, hotels, sunscreen factors etc. – don’t let packing be a problem. Here are five handy tips to take the pain out of travelling.

1. Do your homework.

Check the weather forecast in advance to find out if you’ll need a cashmere sweater or a cotton dress.

2. Pick a palette.

Choose three shades, one neutral, one either white or black and one that pops to ensure all your pieces work together harmoniously.

3. Don’t forget the travel outfit.

Although we’re stretching the term ‘packing’ here, as this doesn’t require suitcase space, the outfit you travel in should be fuss free and put comfort at the forefront. Try a soft trouser and a lightweight knit.

4. Bring your best things.

Unless you’re planning to hike through the outback or go on some adventure camping trip, bring the pieces you love and never get to wear. That dress you adore and those shoes you spent a fortune on will enjoy time away from your wardrobe as much as you will.

5. Underpack.

Because there is always a shopping opportunity and you’ll be thankful later that you left that extra inch of space.
