The Serpentine Pavilion

Serpentine - blog fabricSummer must-see: The Serpentine Pavilion

London's style icons were out in force last night for the cultural party of the season, The Serpentine Summer Party 2013. And yes, we have been snooping on pics of Grace Jones and Kate Moss leaving the after party at 5am this morning. If only there'd been a Chinti shaped fly on the wall...

But let us not overlook the real reason for last night's celebrations. The Serpentine Gallery Pavilion has been transformed by multi award-winning Japanese architect, Sou Fujimoto, into a magnificent latticework. The layered geometric structure, created with steel poles, is so delicate it resembles an almost cloud-like mist rising from the ground. And, for the fun part, visitors are encouraged to interact with this architectural marvel, by climbing on it, walking through it or taking it in whilst reclining in the cafe within. We think we’ll try the latter.
