With a number of styles to choose from - such as slouchy, V-neck and cropped - and a rainbow of colourways on offer, there’s something to suit every style. Expect everything from neutrals that go with everything, to bold block colours. Complete your off-duty look with coordinating track pants, or opt for French tuck into your favourite denim, and finish off with crisp, white trainers, for smart casual chic.
How to style a Basic cashmere sweater
A cosy sweater doesn’t have to be sidelined to the colder seasons. Depending on the time of year you’re styling for, you can play around with different knit gauges and weights to find your perfect fit. In warmer weather, skip the jacket and pair a light jumper over a Tee or blouse paired with a floaty midi skirt. When the colder weather rolls in, French tuck into your favourite vintage for a winter-ready style.
How to wash a Basic sweater
Our Basics collection has been designed to bring affordable cashmere to the market, but the lower price tag certainly doesn’t mean the quality is anything less than you’d expect. With the right care, your new piece will last for years to come.
Be sure to wash your new sweater in the machine or by hand every three to four wears, unless your piece is visibly soiled.
If you opt for machine washing, use a knitwear or delicate cycle on a cold temperature with the lowest spin. A gentle detergent – such as baby shampoo or a specialist cashmere shampoo – is best. To dry, lie your piece on a flat surface in its natural shape to air dry, and cool iron inside out if needed.
Store your sweaters and cardigans folded – never hung – with cedarwood stars to keep moths at bay. Track pants should be folded in half and then hung in your wardrobe. Between washes, spritz with a garment refresher.
